Bell's 31 Points Lead California Over UIC 91-73 in NIT

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Chris Bell scored 31 points to lead California to a 91-73 win over UIC on Wednesday night in the NIT.

Bell was highly efficient, shooting 10 of 12 from the field, including 7 of 8 from three-point range, and going 4 for 4 from the free throw line for the Golden Bears (22-11). Justin Pippen contributed 18 points, six assists, and four steals, while John Camden added 13 points, shooting 5 of 15 overall and 3 of 9 from beyond the arc.

For UIC (19-16), Rashund Washington Jr. led the Flames with 15 points. Elijah Crawford added 14 points, 12 assists, and two steals, and Abdul Momoh also scored 14 points.

California held a narrow 39-35 lead at halftime, with Bell scoring 13 points before the break. The Golden Bears secured the lead for good with 16:48 remaining in the second half, as Bell added 18 more points in the final period.
